Panama President Meets With Uruguay Foreign Minister

Panama President Ricardo Martinelli hosted Uruguay Foreign Minister Luis Almagro for a visit Friday in Panama City.

The meeting covered ways to increase economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Martinelli said the two countries have “always maintained good relations,” and formally invited Uruguay President Jose Mujica to come to Panama for an official visit.

He was joined at the meeting by Panama Foreign Minister Fernando Núñez Fábrega.
