St Kitts and Nevis, Colombia Hold Talks

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas held talks this week with new Colombian Ambassador Luis Guillermo Martinez-Fernandez.

The Ambassador, who recently presented his credentials to Governor General Sir Edmund Lawrence, also met with Foreign Minister Patrice Nisbett.

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including in areas like tourism and interdiction of the narcotics trade.

Colombia is currently the rotating Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States.

The country has previously assisted St Kitts and Nevis with its Caribbean Strategy Programme, most recently assisting in the development of backyard gardens in the twin-island federation.
