Martinique’s agro-tourism sector is on display in Paris this week, as the French department pushes the “richness and diversity” of its agricultural product.

The Martinique Tourism Committee, in partnership with Martinique’s Chamber of Agriculture, is looking to promote all the phases of agro-tourism, including hiking, days at the farm and eco-accomodations at the Salon de l’Agriculture in Paris.

The event concludes Feb. 27.

Most of Martinique’s tourists currently come from mainland France, but the department is currently ramping up its efforts to court North American visitors.

That drive received a boost late last year when American Airlines announced it would be launching direct service to the island for the first time from Miami.
