Tobago Launches Carnival Season

Tobago officially kicked off the carnival season Thursday, under the theme “Let’s Dance, Let’s Play, Let’s Dingolay.”

The island will be holding a host of events to celebrate Carnival this year, including an exposition and arts showcase called “Celebrating Theatre.”

Councillor Denise Tois-a-Fatt Angus, secretary of community development and culture, said this year’s events had been planned to “ensure that we have a safe Carnival and that it is quite exciting.”

Other events will include a Junior Extravaganza Pan and Mas on Feb. 7, the Winward Afro Queen Show and Calypso Monarch on Feb. 9 and others.
