Warwick International Hotels has finalized its purchase of the Paradise Island Harbour Resort in the Bahamas, the company announced Friday.

Warwick plans a “complete and extensive renovation” of the resort, which is slated to begin in the latter part of 2013. It said it would announce a “full renovation and repositioning programme” of the 250-room resort “very soon.”

“The Paradise Island Harbour Resort is very dear to our hearts and shall play a major role in the future expansion of Warwick International Hotels in the Caribbean and West Indies,” said GPaul LeBlanc, vice president of sales and marketing of Warwick International Hotels.

Warwick’s portfolio includes more than 50 hotels and 6,500 rooms in Europe, the US, Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, the South Pacific, Africa and the Caribbean/West Indies.

It said the hotel would begin accepting reservations beginning Saturday.
