The La Samanna resort property in St Martin has reopened following extensive renovations, according to Orient-Express.

The property recently completed the second phase of renovations, which brought two new restaurants, a revamped lobby and refurbished suites and rooms.

“La Samanna has been a quintessential Caribbean hideaway for more than three decades,” General Manager Pascal Deyrolle said in a release. “While preserving the property’s authenticity is at the forefront of our Orient-Express approach, our doors reopen this season with revamped facilities and offerings designed specifically to bring back the glamour of luxury travel to St. Martin and the Caribbean.”

The new restaurants include Trellis, a French restaurant with a large selection of Cote du Rhone wines, and Interlude, a casual breakfast and dinner option.

Each room includes artwork from local artists, including Sir Roland Richardson, the property’s longtime resident artist, and Antoine Chapon, a 25-year-old resident of St Martin.

The property’s Baie Longue Bar has also been remodeled. Its La Cave at La Samanna wine cellar, which can be used for special dinners and events, has more than 10,000 bottles.

La Samanna has 83 rooms and suites, along with the Villas at La Samanna, a group of three- and four-bedroom residences.
