Juan Mari Arzak Named Gastronomic Ambassador at Grand Velas Riviera Maya

World-renowned Spanish chef Juan Mari Arzak has been named the Gastronomic Ambassador for the Grand Velas Riviera Maya Resort on Mexico’s Caribbean coast.

Arzak, considered one of the leading figures in Basque cuisine for more than 30 years, was honoured by chefs Bruno Oteiza and Mikel Alonzo.

The two chefs created the menu at the resort’s Cocina de Autor restaurant, which combines Basque cuisine with the characteristic flavours of the Riviera Maya and Mexico.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya recently received the AAA Five Diamond award for the second time.

Arzak also presented a conference about his culinary movement during his stay.
