The Communications Unit in the Office of St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas and the Taiwanese Embassy in Basseterre have signed a letter of intent aimed at stronger ties between the two countries.

Under the agreement, the Prime Minister’s CUOPM unit will disseminate information about the Taiwan Academy and its scholarship opportunities.

The agreement was signed by Erasmus Williams, the Prime Minister’s press secretary, and Ambassador Miguel Tsao.

The Taiwan Academy has also agreed to provide access to websites which contain certain historic and diplomatic archives.

The two countries recently collaborated on several projects, including a solar panel pilot programme and the design of an agro-tourism park, the latter of which broke ground last week.
