Award-winning actress Anna Maria Horsford, who was born in New York to Antiguan parents, will be Antigua’s newest tourism ambassador. The position was created by Antigua’s Ministry of Tourism in 2007. Horsford, whose career has spanned roles from Thelma Frye on the television sitcom “Amen” to a new BET sitcom called “Reed Between the Lines,” will be officially awarded the title on Oct. 29. “We are happy to honor Anna Maria Horsford as our next tourism ambassador,” said Derede Samuel-Whitlock, Director of Tourism for Antigua in the US.
