Jamaican reggae star Beenie Man has regained his United States visa, he announced today in a release. According to a spokesperson, Beenie Man, whose real name is Moses David, said he re-affirmed his “commitment to decency and family values as integral aspects of Jamaican reggae music.” Beenie Man was represented by attorneys Professor David Rowe and Rosemarie Robinson. He thanked the US government and the US Consulate in Jamaica for what he called “renewed confidence” in him. Beenie Man talked to Caribbean Journal earlier this year about his music, his career and his faith. The singer was among several Jamaicans who lost their visas last year.
