10 Ultimate Beach Vacations You Need to Try

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 29, 2017

There are great “resorts” in the Caribbean and there are great beach vacations in the Caribbean. The distinction is no small thing. Because while some resorts can offer all the amenities and grandeur you’re looking for, they may not be true “beach” resorts, offering direct, easy access to the beach, a wide range of beachfront rooms and, even better, multiple beaches at the same resort.

But then there are beach resorts that take it to another level — they have more than one beach.

The latter is the criterion on which we’ve focused in this “ultimate” list — every one of the following beach resorts has more than one beach. Your only problem will be choosing which one to spend the day on. Check out these beach resorts, as good as you’ll find anywhere.

Beach Resorts

Caneel Bay St. John is one of the most naturally beautiful islands in all of the Caribbean, and this legendary resort takes it to a different level with a whopping seven beaches to choose from, or, as the property says, “one for every day of the week.”

Beach Resorts

Guana Island Still a bit of a closely-guarded secret, this historic property in the BVI is eclectic, charming and filled with seven magnificent totally-empty beaches, including one with an effectively private beach bar.

Beach Resorts

Peter Island Resort and Spa This terrific private-island resort in the British Virgin Islands is a luxurious yet laid back retreat that boasts five white-sand beaches, from the famous Deadman’s Beach to the romantic White Bay Beach.

Beach Resorts

Palm Island The Caribbean’s top castaway-style retreat, this private-island spot in the heart of the Grenadines has five pristine white-sand beaches, and thanks to a very small footprint it’s likely you’ll have one all to yourself on one of the perfect beach vacations.

Beach Resorts

Petit St. Vincent Another spectacular hotspot in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, this luxe 22-unit hideaway is set on a 115-acre island with three picture-perfect beaches tailored for you and yours.

Beach Resorts

Half Moon Jamaica’s hotel stock is filled with scenic private beaches, but Half Moon’s two-mile-wide collection of short and long white sand beaches is our favorite on the island, led by the tranquil, picturesque Half Moon Bay that was the Queen’s preferred retreat in Jamaica.

Beach Resorts

Bitter End Yacht Club It’s not surprising that a place known for its watersports should be blessed with a plethora of great beaches. And yes, the BIYC, set on the marvelous North Sound of Virgin Gorda, has three swimmable white-sand beaches decorated with the hotel’s signature adirondack chairs.

Beach Resorts

The Buccaneer The most popular (and beloved) resort in St. Croix is a haven for beach-seekers, with three terrific stretches of sand, each with a different purpose, from watersports to romantic seclusion.

Beach Resorts

Four Seasons Anguilla You can’t make a list of the top beach resorts without including a place from Anguilla, which is almost certainly the beach capital of the Caribbean. But while many Anguilla options are on beautiful beaches, the Four Seasons is the only one ucky enough to boast two wonderful beaches: Barnes Bay and Meads Bay.

Beach Resorts

Curtain Bluff Antigua’s venerable luxury resort has two very different but very beautiful beaches; one a rougher, energetic stretch, the other a soft, tranquil patch of sand.
