One GRAND PRIZE:  (4) packages to include round trip Main Cabin  air transportation to Punta Cana for one (1) winner and one (3) guests, valued up to $800 per person (with the winner responsible for any costs in excess of $800 per person) and 4-night hotel accommodations at the RIU Palace Punta Cana (one room, double occupancy), valued up to $2,975 subject to availability and round trip ground transfers valued at up to $100. Grand prize has an approximate retail value $9,350. Taxes will apply to airfare travel. Travel must be completed before  July 14^th 2019.

If any component of the trip, air or land, exceeds the value specified on the certificate, recipient is responsible for any balance due and must be paid in full at time of booking. Must book by 6/14/2019 and travel by 7/14/2019. Terms and conditions below apply.

1. The trip certificates are non-refundable and non-transferable.
2. Tickets issued in conjunction with this promotion have zero cash value.
3. Airfare is not included unless otherwise specified. For certificates which specify the inclusion of airfare: Delta Vacations will provide air transportation via Delta Air Lines from any city in the U.S. 50 or Canada. Travel is permitted on designated flights operated by Delta Air Lines; the Delta Connection® carriers: Compass Airlines, ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., GoJet Airlines, Endeavor Air, Shuttle America, and SkyWest; and Delta Shuttle® carriers: Shuttle America and Compass Airlines. Travel via other DL Airlink and DL designated affiliated partner flights is not permitted. The recipient shall be responsible for travel to and from the airport served by such flights.
4. Travel is not permitted on the following dates: 2018 – March 11–31, November 17-29, December 15-31; 2019 – January 1, February 13-27, March 31 – April 22, May 25-20, June 27-July 6, November 23-27, December 15-31.
5. Not valid with previously purchased trip. Trip certificate may not be combined with any other coupon, certificates, discount, bonus, infant fare, upgrade, SkyMiles Air Travel Award or promotional offers/tickets.
6. Trip certificates are not valid with Miscellaneous Charge Orders or Prepaid tickets.
7. Trip certificates cannot be sold or transferred. Purchased certificates are subject to confiscation and you will not be allowed to travel. Only original certificates will be accepted. Certificates will not be replaced. Void if altered.
8. Travel must be roundtrip.
9. Reservations must be made and ticket issued prior to departure.
10. Delta Vacations must make all reservations and issue all travel documentation.
11. Each certificate may only be applied towards one passenger and one guest.
12. Any unused portion of the certificate will not be refunded, and cannot be used towards another booking or another service component.
13. Travel agent commission is not paid/earned on a free trip.
14. State and federal income taxes may apply and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
15. Checked luggage fees may apply and are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Fees are charged each way, and are subject to change. Refer to delta.com for current rates.
16. Changes to reservations, once made, are not permitted.
17. A per ticket surcharge will apply for paper tickets issued in markets where electronic ticketing is available.
18. Substitutions will not be allowed.
19. Space is subject to availability
20. The individual redeeming each certificate must be 18 years of age or older
21. SkyMiles mileage credit and/or MQDs may or may not be awarded.
22. Flight schedules are subject to change without notice.
23. Delta Vacations is the final authority on the interpretation of these rules and reserve the right to change these terms and conditions without prior notice.

RIU Palace Punta Cana Terms & Conditions: The validity period of the voucher cannot be extended. Vouchers may only be redeemed at hotels listed in the voucher. Reservations must be made at least 20 business days prior to arrival. Confirmation of reservations may take from 5 to 7 business days and is subject to availability. Please make sure to send a copy of your voucher or your voucher number with three options of travel dates. Complimentary voucher needed upon check in. In case you would like to travel with an additional person, please ask for rates. Cancellation and no-show policies will apply. This complimentary voucher is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or other discounts.

ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open only to individuals, eighteen (18) years or older at time of entry, who are legal residents of the United States.  Employees of Caribbean Journal and its parent companies, subsidiaries or agents, their immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse and grandparents), and those domiciled with any of the foregoing are not eligible.  Website pages and advertisements relating to the Sweepstakes are intended for viewing only within the eligible Sweepstakes territory, and entrants must be present in the eligible Sweepstakes territory at the time of entry.

TIMING:  The Sweepstakes entry period begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on Nov 11, 2018 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 31, 2018.  Sponsor’s computer system is the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.

WINNER SELECTION:  On or about Dec. 31, 2018, a random drawing from among all eligible entries will be conducted under Sponsor’s supervision.  Potential winners will be notified by e-mail on or before Jan. 15, 2019.  Potential winners will be required to sign and return a sworn Affidavit of Eligibility, and Liability and Publicity Release.  If required documentation is not returned within seven (7) business days of notification, or if notification is returned as undeliverable, any prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing.  Prizes will be awarded within sixty (60) days after winner verification.  No prize substitution or transfer is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value (including cash, at Sponsor’s sole discretion) for any reason.  Sponsor is required by law to report prize values to taxing authorities; all taxes and any other incidental expenses on prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner.  

GENERAL RULES & LIMITATIONS:  By participating in the Sweepstakes, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor (including, without limitation, decisions regarding eligibility of entries, the selection of entrants and the winner, and the awarding of any prize), which are final and binding in all respects.  Entry and acceptance of a prize constitute permission to use each winner’s name, prize won, hometown and likeness for print publication, online posting, and any other promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.  By participating in the Sweepstakes, you agree to release Sponsor and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, directors, officers, and agents from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, possession, use, or misuse of any prize.  Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures, or other errors or problems which may occur in connection with the Sweepstakes, whether computer, network, technical, mechanical, typographical, printing, human or otherwise, including, without limitation, errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prizes, in any Sweepstakes-related materials, or that may limit prize fulfillment or a participant’s ability to enter the Sweepstakes.  Sponsor reserves the right to amend these Official Rules.  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes if, in Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if viruses, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical difficulties or failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes.  In such event, Sponsor reserves the right (but does not have the obligation) in its sole discretion to award prizes at random from among eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of suspected impairment.  Sponsor may permanently disqualify from the Sweepstakes any person it believes has tampered with the entry process or intentionally violated these official rules.  

PRIVACY:  Sponsor collects email address and subscribes entrants to the free daily email from Caribbean Journal.  Entrants may unsubscribe at any time.  Consenting to receive such emails and information is optional, and is not necessary to enter or win this Sweepstakes, nor will it increase or improve your chances of winning. 

DISPUTE RESOLUTION:  Except where prohibited by law, by entering you agree that: (i) all issues and questions concerning the interpretation, validity, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participants and Sponsor and its agents shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law; (ii) any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes, or awarding of any prize), shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and entrant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action; (iii) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or awarding of the prizes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (iv) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating in this Sweepstakes but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (iv) you hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
