Air Canada Is Returning to Grenada

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 2, 2022

Air Canada is making its long-awaited return to Grenada this fall.

On Oct. 30, Air Canada will restart nonstop service between Toronto and Grenada.

The flights will operate twice weekly, with service on Sundays and Thursdays between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Maurice Bishop International Airport.

“The return of Air Canada is welcome news at a time when accessibility and travel convenience are key to attracting international visitors. Canadian arrival numbers have remained strong, in spite of the absence of direct service, so we know that the demand is there,” said Grenada Tourism Minister Clarice Modeste-Curwen. “We are committed to working alongside our airline partners to ensure continuous connectivity to our country.”

Air Canada says the destination is trending upward.

Grenada “is pacing ahead of 2019 numbers and group business is up 37 percent,” said Diana Rodriguez, product director at Air Canada Vacations.

Grenada recently rescinded all of its entry protocols for travelers; that means no tests before arrival, no health declaration forms and no quarantine — in other words, the way travel was before the onset of the pandemic.
