A “New Beginning” for Bermuda’s Cambridge Beaches Hotel

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 13, 2022

The historic Cambridge Beaches resort in Bermuda, which was founded in 1923, has long been the island’s leading historic hotel.

But after nearly 100 years, it’s getting a brand-new look.

In what the property is calling a “new beginning,” the hotel will this summer debut a brand-new look and identity.

The redesign is being led by Phil Hospod of Dovetail + Co hospitality, with interior design by Kellyann Hee, formerly of Soho House.

That’s along with creative work by Paris-based Saint-Lazare.

Working with the property’s existing architectural details — some of which stretch back to the 17th century — the hotel is restyling its 86 guest rooms, all set in charming cottages.

The changes come ahead of the hotel’s centennial next year, joined by the launch of a new alfresco eatery called Breezes; a casual-fare poolside restaurant called Pastel; and Sunken Harbor Club, led by St John Fritzell of the Sunken Harbor Club in Brooklyn.
