The Bahamas Relaxes Protocols As Cases Decline

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 4, 2022

The Bahamas is relaxing some of its Covid protocols as cases have declined.

Most notably, travelers to The Bahamas are no longer required to take a rapid antigen test on the fifth day of their trip, regardless of vaccination status.

Visitors must still follow the Covid return testing requirements for their respective countries, however.

“It is important to remain fluid and adapt our protocols to reflect a changing environment”, said

Chester Cooper, Bahamas Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, “and we are pleased to be able to eliminate The Bahamas’ testing requirements.”

All travelers to The Bahamas must continue to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa (you can do so here) and follow the country’s pre-testing protocols.

“Despite the challenges of Covid-19, the strong desire for travel to The Bahamas has not diminished,” said Latia Duncombe, Acting Director General, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation. We remain positioned for a steady tourism recovery, and we will continue to assist efficiencies of travel-related requirements for our beloved visitors, while protecting the health and safety of everyone.”
