Silversea Restarts Caribbean Operations in Puerto Rico

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 23, 2021

Silversea has arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico to begin its new Caribbean schedule.

The cruise line has selected Puerto Rico as a homeport to reactive its Caribbean operations, with plans to make 10 trips across the Caribbean out of San Juan.

That will include voyages on Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Moon.

And that’s just the beginning for Silversea in Puerto Rico; from the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2024, Silversea has added 13 more trips out of San Juan, including for the new Silver Nova ship.

The cruise market continues to strengthen locally and the arrival of Silver Whisper is evidence of the efforts carried out by Tourism and Ports to create a business environment that allows these tourism opportunities for Puerto Rico,” said Puerto Rico Governor Pedro Pierluisi. “Our Island has much to offer and, always following the precautionary measures to combat COVID-19, we will continue to promote the arrival of these cruise ships that contribute so much to our tourism portfolio and our economic development.”

Silver Whisper will be sailing a 15-day itinerary that includes stops in the British Virgin Islands, St Barth, St Kitts, Saint Lucia, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, Antigua, Barbados, St Maarten and St Thomas before finishing its voyage in Fort Lauderdale.
