Barbados Is Getting New Flights from Scotland

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 13, 2021

Barbados is set for another airlift boost, with the planned launch of new flights from Edinburgh.

Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to kick off the only service from Scotland to the Caribbean, with Edinburgh-Barbados flights launching in December 2021.

It will be the first time Virgin Atlantic has ever flown to the CaribbeanI from Scotland in its 37-year history.

It will also be Scotland’s only direct flight to the Caribbean.

The flights, which launch Dec. 5, will operate twice weekly on an Airbus A330 aircraft with three cabins.

It’s part of a broader expansion for Virgin to the Caribbean this upcoming winter season.

“Commencing international flights from Edinburgh marks an exciting new chapter for Virgin Atlantic and we couldn’t be happier to be flying from a new home in Scotland. I know our teams are itching to show Edinburgh the Virgin Atlantic spirit and flair we’re famous for,” said Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic.
