Puerto Rico Launches Push to Attract Remote Workers

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 23, 2021

Following the lead of a number of Caribbean destinations, Puerto Rico has launched a new remote work program, looking to tap into its growing popularity.

It’s called “Deskover Puerto Rico,” and it aims to encourage remote workers to choose Puerto Rico for their next “workation.”

Unlike in many other Caribbean destinations, Remote Workers in Puerto Rico don’t need a visa or special permit to make the move: it’s as easy as buying a ticket and choosing a hotel, apartment tor villa for your long-term stay.

“Puerto Rico is a great option for travelers looking to work remotely from unique accommodations, seeking warm temperatures, rich history, a plethora of outdoor attractions, delectable cuisine, and an international flair,” said Brad Dean, CEO of Discover Puerto Rico. “Puerto Rico is committed to providing a safe travel experience, given the prioritization of health and safety measures.”

Discover Puerto Rico has also launched a program that will give a six two-week “workations” to applicants who share what they would accomplish if they had two weeks to work in Puerto Rico.
