American Airlines Launching “Health Passport”

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 14, 2021

American Airlines is launching a new “health passport” covering inbound travel to the United States from all international destinations.

The VeriFLY app will be a “mobile passport” that helps travelers “understand and verify their travel requirements,” the company said.

The program, which launches Jan. 23, is being expanded following the US government’s recent announcement that it would require all passengers two years and older from any international location to test negative within three calendar days of departure.

“We’re expanding our work with VeriFLY to quickly evolve our usage of the app and make international travel easier for our customers,” said Julie Rath, Vice President of Customer Experience at American. “We support the implementation of a global program to require COVID-19 testing for travelers to the United States, and we want to do everything we can to make travel a seamless experience for customers. We’ve received positive feedback about the app so far and look forward to more customers having the opportunity to use it.”

Travelers can upload their negative test results on the app, along with any other destination-required documents.

The app can be downloaded on Apple or Google.
