Caribbean Airlines Keeping Up Cargo Operations Amid Coronavirus

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 25, 2020

Trinidad-based regional airline Caribbean Airlines is continuing its cargo operations amid coronavirus, the carrier said.

The company continues to operate its cargo freighter flights and ground transport trucking services moving cargo between the United States and the Cribbean.

Much of that includes essential services for businesses to ship pharmaceuticals and restock “dwindling” supplies locally, according to a statement.

Caribbean Airlines has also launched a barrel and e-container special out of markets like New York, Fort Lauderdale and Miami to “allow loved ones to ship care packages to their familes” in destinations like Kingston, Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad.

“Caribbean Airlines recognizes its critical role during times like these to keep essential goods moving,” said Marklan Moseley, general manager of Caribbean Airlines Cargo. “We closely monitor our operations, adhering to strict precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

Caribbean Airlines said it was following CDC recommendations for preventing the spread of disease on commercial aircraft, along with other hygiene measures.
