Jamaica’s Montego Bay Airport Is Expanding

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 30, 2019

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Jamacia’s Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay is expanding, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The hub for the vast majority of travelers to Jamaica will be adding nearly 26,000 square feet to its departure terminal.

The expansion is part of a broader infrastructure improvement project that will also include a new design theme.

The airport will also see big changes to its commercial area, with a renewed focus on Jamaican specialty projects and artisan goods.

The news was announced by Jamaican tourism officials during the recent JAPEX tourism exchange conference in Montego Bay.

The changes come after Sangster International Airport unveiled an upgraded ticketing concourse earlier this year.

The airport connects Jamaica with more than 50 international destinations.
