Martha Stewart, MSC to Partner on Caribbean Cruise Excursions

Martha Stewart is getting into the Caribbean cruise industry.

The home and lifestyle titan is partnering with Swiss cruise company MSC Cruises, with plans to offer curated excursions, gift packages and special onboard menus and recipes.

The excursions will initially take place in multiple destinations across the Caribbean, with everything from culinary classes to horseback riding to visits to craft markets.

“I’ve always enjoyed introducing people to new experiences, and I’m thrilled to be working with MSC Cruises on a partnership that embodies the true celebratory nature of travel, exploration and discovery,” Stewart said in a statement. “The excursions showcase some of my favorite activities and help MSC Cruises’ guests discover some of the authentic and hidden treasures of destinations throughout the Caribbean. The holiday dinner menus and surprise gift packages encompass what I believe celebrations should include: good food, good company and commemorating great adventures and inspiration wherever we are.”

It’s part of MSC’s bigger push to grow its presence in the Caribbean and North America (the company is already building a major new terminal in PortMiami).

“As MSC Cruises significantly expands its presence in the North American market, we are continually seeking to introduce new offerings in the region that are appealing to the North American traveler,” said Ken Muskat, EVP and Chief Operating Officer of MSC Cruises. “MSC Cruises’ guests are curious travelers who seek learning opportunities and are looking for authentic experiences that help them travel like a local. In addition to being designed around Martha Stewart’s interests, together we created these shore excursions with insight from the local tourism boards to identify the true, hidden treasures of the islands and really provide our guests with an exceptional and rare experience.”

The initial rollout will cover all destinations on itineraries served by MSC’s Seaside and Armonia cruise ships, with stops in Caribbean ports including San Juan, Nassau, St Maarten, St Thomas, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan.

That will expand in November 2019 with additional excursions on MSC’s Divina and Meraviglia ships.
