JetBlue Airways had another strong month in August, according to the latest data report from the New York City-based carrier.

The company reported 4.72 billion revenue passenger miles in August, a 6.7 percent increase over the same month in 2017.

Available seat miles rose by 4.8 percent to 5.319 billion in the same time frame, while load factor rose by 1.6 percentage points to 88.7 percent in August.

For the year, JetBlue’s traffic is up 6 percent, with a total of 34.384 billion revenue passenger miles, while available seat miles have risen by 4.7 percent to 39.833 billion in the first eight months of 2018.

Load factor is up 1 percentage point for the year to 86.3 percent.

JetBlue continues to expand its Caribbean network in 2018, as it continues to face increased competition in the region, particularly from low-cost carriers like Spirit.
