Spanish hotel giant Melia is adding another all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic’s tourism hub of Punta Cana, the company announced this week.

The new Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real is set to make its debut this December, according to Melia.

The all-inclusive resort, set about 30 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport on the famous Bavaro Beach, will feature 288 large suite-style rooms, including swim-up suites.

“We’re eager and excited to welcome The Grand Reserve to the Meliá Hotels International family later this year,” said Alvaro Tejada, Senior Vice President for the Americas for Meliá Hotels International. “With its unique design superior amenities and new technological advancements, The Grand Reserve is set to radically transform the way travellers experience our hotels in the Dominican Republic.”

The units at the Grand Reserve will range from 800 to more than 3,000 interior square feet, featuring either one or two bedrooms and amenities like free-standing bath tubs, walk-in showers and private balconies with whirlpool tubs.

The swim-up suites will have direct access to an exclusive pool.

The resort will feature seven restaurant concepts and bars, from a ceviche bar to a steak house with an open kitchen and even a cigar bar.

It will be a family-friendly property, the company said, with a new Kids Club and an Aqua Park, among other features.

It will additionally include a full-service spa by Spanish wellness brand Natura Bisse, with 14 treatment rooms and a relaxation room.

Melia said there would also be 144 suites for members of the company’s new Circle by Melia program, meaning a total of 432 suites at the property.
