Oyster Bay Beach Resort Reopens in St Maarten

The St Maarten tourism comeback continues.

Another of the island’s most popular resorts has officially reopened its doors, with the Oyster Bay Beach Resort relaunching operations with a new look after shuttering last year due to Hurricane Irma.

The property has relaunched with close to half of its rooms available, along with all of the resort’s amenities.

The remainder of the property’s rooms will be ready by the end of the year.

Oyster Bay’s relaunch has come with a series of changes, from the addition of new furniture, bedding, artwork and appliances in the rooms, along with a reconstructed signature oceanfront infinity pool.

“The rooms have also been fitted with new, upgraded windows and doors throughout,” said Oyster Bay General Manager Ricardo Perez. “The rooms are looking great and the facilities feature striking new colors — which have attracted a lot of positive energy from our owners and guests.”

The property has also upgraded its pool with a new pool deck and water features, along with a completely redesigned lobby, a gym, mini mart and a spa.

The spa has been relaunched as the “St Maarten Nectar Wellness Spa,” officials told Caribbean Journal.

“The sight of our rebuilt and renewed resort is lifting everyone’s spirits,” Perez said.

The reopening of Oyster Bay comes as another of the island’s signature hotels, the Divi Little Bay, also officially reopened last month.

Officials said a grand reopening celebration is being planned once all phases of construction are completed.
