The Bahamas and the China Harbour Engineering Company have signed a $40 million contract for the construction of a bridge and port in North Abaco.
The project entails the design and construction of what will be called the Little Abaco Bridge for $6.5 million, and the North Abaco Port for $33.4 million.
Work on the project will begin in December; the bridge is slated for completion in February 2013, and the port in November 2013.
The projects will be funded by China’s EXIM Bank.
