Atlantis’ Marina Village Goes Local

The Marina Village at Paradise Island’s Atlantis resort has long been among its most popular attractions, with a mix of shops, bars and restaurants.

But the resort’s new focus on an authentic Bahamian experience has brought some changes — and three new local Bahamian eateries.

The Marina Village has added three local restaurants to its portfolio, including Frankie Gone Bananas, McKenzie’s Conch Shack and the Pirate Republic brewery.

Frankie Gone Bananas gives travelers the authentic Nassau Fish Fry experience, with a range of Bahamian dishes from mac n’ cheese to “coconut n’ Kalik soup.”

Mackenzie’s, long a popular stop at the famous Potters Cay in Nassau, will serve up fresh conch salads (and Sands beer), while the Pirate Republic Brewery will be an expansion of the company’s downtown Nassau outpost.

“Our commitment to bringing local culture, flavors and tradition to Atlantis has allowed us to discover some incredible partners to contribute to the overall casual dining experience at the resort,” said Audrey Oswell, President & Managing Director of Atlantis Paradise Island. “The additions of Frankie Gone Bananas, McKenzie’s and Pirate Republic at Atlantis not only encourage guests to have a more authentic island experience focused on the distinct tastes of The Bahamas, but it also simultaneously creates new economic opportunities and creative platforms for local entrepreneurs.”

The Marina Village also recently debuted an Art Walk where guests can support Bahamian artisans, along with regular Junkanoo performances.
