The popular Anegada Lobster Festival on the island of Anegada in the British Virgin Islands will go ahead this year, the BVI Tourist Board announced.

The now-annual festival will take place in November despite damage to the island as a result of Hurricane Irma.

“An epicurean’s delight, this annual event will celebrate the BVI’s fresh, delectable seafood offerings exclusively available on the island of Anegada,” the tourist board said in a statement.

The festival highlights the island’s remarkable collection of lobster-focused restaurants, with events like a lobster crawl and special dinners.

More updates will be shared as details are finalized.

“The local community looks forward to participating in this special culinary celebration,” the board said.
