Sandals Buying St. Lucia Golf Club

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 31, 2017

Sandals Resorts International is buying the Saint Lucia Golf Club, the company announced Wednesday.

The only 18-hole golf course on the island, the par-71 Saint Lucia Golf Club is set on St. Lucia’s northern tip with 6,829 yards of green slopes, ponds and ancient tropical trees.

Acquisition of the course is expected to be completed within 30 days, according to the company.

“It’s a beauty and the only game in town,” said Sandals Resorts International Chairman Gordon “Butch” Stewart.  “We are thrilled to bring this gorgeous course into our growing Saint Lucian family of offerings and to share it with the people of Saint Lucia and our guests alike.”

Sandals will be renaming the course Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate, and adding a family entertainment complex, swimming pool and tennis courts, new restaurants and improved meetings facilities.

“We are going to make what is great even better,” Stewart said.
