Grand Cayman’s Kimpton Seafire Resort Is Now Open

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 15, 2016

One of the Caribbean’s most hotly-anticipated new hotels is now open for business: the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa in Grand Cayman.

The resort, which is the first new resort on Grand Cayman in a decade, has 266 guest rooms and suites, the “great majority” of which have ocean views. That includes three free-standing beachside bungalows with loft-style layouts.

Rooms include floor-to-ceiling windows, Frette linens, 24-hour room service, mini bars and even amenities like in-room yoga mats.

The property is also home to an 8,500-square-foot Spa at Seafire, which includes seven treatment rooms and the only Hammam in the Cayman Islands.

Grand Cayman was the perfect choice for Kimpton’s first island resort, with an ideal location right on Seven Mile Beach,” said Steven Andre, Seafire General Manager. “Seafire embodies the spirit and culture of the destination, and will allow guests the opportunity to truly immerse themselves in island life.”

The resort is home to two oceanfront pools, both family-friendly and adults-only, along with three restaurants: Ave, a Mediterranean-focused eatery; Avecita, and Mexican street-food restaurant Coccoloba Bar & Grill.

Also launching this week was the residential component of the project, The Residences at Seafire, with 62 residences.

“The Cayman Islands is such a design-driven destination with an incredible flavour for modern luxury. I was inspired by the beautiful colours, history and craftsmanship of the islands to create an upscale living haven at The Residences at Seafire,” said Interior Designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, who styled the public spaces at the property.

The overall project is the latest on Grand Cayman by real estate firm Dart, which has helmed a number of the island’s most high-profile projects, including the Camana Bay complex.

“Seafire exemplifies what Ken Dart, our shareholder, believes to be most important in our real estate development: long-term value creation, thoughtful design and creating places and experiences that enhance the Cayman Islands for residents and visitors alike,” said Mark VanDevelde, CEO of Dart Enterprises (Cayman), Ltd.
