Another Reason to Visit This Top Caribbean Food Destination

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 21, 2016

It was 2013 when in everything changed for food in Bonaire.

In Caribbean Journal’s first edition of our landmark list of the 50 Best Caribbean Restaurants, we named the island’s At Sea restaurant as number one in the Caribbean.

It was a moment that put Bonaire’s culinary scene on the map, and since then the island’s foodie culture has only grown.

Now, Bonaire is one of the best food destinations in the Caribbean, and the island is holding its second edition of the popular Bonaire Cuisine Month.

The month will be held during May and June, showcasing the island’s selection of culinary offerings.

“What many people don’t know about Bonaire is that it is not only recognized as a diver’s paradise but is evolving into a delicious paradise, a gastronomic destination for foodies at large,” commented Maurice Adriaens, the Director of Tourism for Tourism Corporation Bonaire. “We originally created cuisine month to give our visitors an opportunity to explore the diversity of culinary flavors offered and the chefs who create them. Expanding our Cuisine Month to two months is a testament to the success of last year’s program. Whether looking for Mediterranean, Italian, Dutch, French or signature Bonairean dishes, Bonaire has something to satisfy every palate.”
