JetBlue’s Newest Caribbean Addition

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 25, 2016

It’s no secret that JetBlue is focused heavily on the Caribbean.

The New York City-based carrier has been expanding rapidly in the region, with new flights all across the region out of hubs like New York and Fort Lauderdale and other cities like Boston.

And the latter is home to the carrier’s latest addition: premium Mint service.

On Saturday, JetBlue launches Mint service between Boston and Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport.

That makes it the only carrier offering lie-flat seating on routes to Barbados (or the rest of the Caribbean) out of Boston.

The seasonal Mint service will operate on Saturdays from Boston to Barbados (and back) through April 30, 2016.

Mint service includes private suites, tapas-style dining, custom amenity kits, a 15-inch flat screen with 100+ channels of programming, among other features.

Last year, JetBlue began offering Mint on flights from New York to both Aruba and Barbados.

“JetBlue travelers in Boston are craving a premium experience and starting today they can experience service unlike anything offered by any other another airline at Logan,” said Marty St. George, executive vice president commercial and planning at JetBlue. “Mint has been a game changer in the transcontinental market in New York and we can’t wait for it to do the same in Boston.”

The move comes ahead of another major launch: JetBlue’s new daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Barbados, beginning next month.
