Uruguayan Leader Issues Haiti an Apology

Uruguayan President Jose Mujica has issued an apology to Haiti for the alleged assault of a young man by UN peacekeepers from his country. Mujica called the alleged conduct “criminal and embarrassing, and said he was also apologising on behalf of his country’s armed services. Earlier this week, Haitian President Michel Martelly called for a probe of the incident. [Voice of America]
