JetBlue has begun its new daily service between Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, the carrier announced.

Fort Lauderdale is the third city from which JetBlue is now offering service to Turks and Caicos, along with Boston and New York.

“We’re thrilled to introduce new service from sunny Ft. Lauderdale to one of the most stunning islands in the Caribbean,” said Jason Annunziata, director of airport operations for Ft. Lauderdale. “This new service will provide South Floridians with a new option to discover this world-famous destination, while Turks & Caicos Islanders will have a new option for visiting beautiful South Florida and experiencing its world-class shopping and attractions, as well as connect to points throughout the U.S. and Latin America through this JetBlue focus city.”

The daily flights are being operated on JetBlue’s Embraer E190 aircraft.

“It has been some time that the public has encouraged the Turks & Caicos Islands Airports Authority to lobby carriers for operations out of Fort Lauderdale to the Turks & Caicos Islands. The Chairman and TCIAA are pleased that JetBlue has filled this void much to the pleasure of the traveling public, whom we hope will support this initiative,” said TCIAA CEO, John T. Smith.

JetBlue has been on a significant expansion push in the Caribbean most recently adding new routes to Curacao and Barbados.
