Hyatt Ziva Cancun has officially opened on Punta Cancun on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.

Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the 547-suite all-inclusive resort features nine restaurants; six bars and lounges; and a microbrewery, Tres Cervezas.

There are three lagoon-style and adults-only pools, a spa and a kids’ club, as well as 11,000 feet of meeting space. Rooms, decorated in the vibrant colors of the Yucatan, have ocean or garden views and come complete with complimentary refreshment bars and room service. Guests in higher category accommodations rooms enjoy swim-up suites and private butler or concierge service.

Approximately $85 million dollars was invested in renovation and expansion of the resort, which was formerly Dreams Cancun.

“We are thrilled to add a second Hyatt all inclusive resort to this fantastic destination,” said Senior Vice President Carlos Cabrera, global all inclusive operations for Hyatt. “The transformation of this resort is truly spectacular and offers a distinctive all inclusive experience for families, meeting attendees, friends, and couples. From the nine exceptional dining options to the stunning swim-up suites with spectacular ocean views, Hyatt Ziva Cancún is the definitive luxury all inclusive resort.”

The revamp incorporates the original hotel building, which was designed by Mexican architect Ricardo Legoretta, and whose iconic pyramid-like shape eventually exemplified the architecture of Cancun’s resorts.

“Hyatt Ziva Cancun is the future of sophisticated all inclusive travel,” said Playa Resorts Management’s Chief Executive Officer Alex Stadlin. “We were determined to rethink the all inclusive experience and design a resort that is not only physically beautiful, but is the ultimate backdrop for each guest to craft their own personal story during the visit.”

Hyatt Ziva Cancún is owned by Playa Hotels & Resorts, which manages 14 hotels in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica under the Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Zilara, Royal and Gran brands.
