The Caribbean’s newest rum just made a splash.

Clifton Estate Rum, a new spiced rum from the island of Nevis, recently took home a gold medal at the fifth edition of the Caribbean Rum and Beer Festival in St Maarten.

The rum, which is the brainchild of regional rum expert Mark Theron, also has another claim to fame: one of the most creative rum bottle designs in some time: a lovely barrel shape.

Theron’s description is simple: it’s the Taste of Nevis in a barrel.
