Jamaica’s award-winning jazz legend, Monty Alexander, will travel to Los Angeles for a show this November.

Alexander, whose music explores the bridge between American jazz, popular song, and the music of his native Jamaica, will bring  “A Jamaica Reggae/Jazz One Love Party” to the Catalina Jazz Club on Hollywood’s West Sunset Boulevard for two nights, November 13 and 14.

Alexander has performed around the world with renowned artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra, Ray Brown, Natalie Cole and Tony Bennett, among many others.

In 2000, the Jamaican government awarded him the title of Commander in the Order of Distinction for outstanding services to Jamaica, and in 2012, his “Harlem Kingston Express: Live!” received a Grammy nomination.

He released his album, ‘Harlem-Kingston Express Vol. 2: The River Rolls On,” in April, and it remained for weeks at number one on the jazz radio charts.

Alexander maintains an active touring schedule worldwide– playing venues from jazz clubs to concert halls to top jazz festivals.
