A new gateway to the region

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Panama-based carrier Copa Airlines has officially launched daily nonstop flights between Panama City and San Francisco, Calif.

The flights provide a new gateway to Central America and to the Caribbean through Copa’s wide regional network.

“Our new daily nonstop service to San Francisco demonstrates the Hub of the Americas’ continued leadership position among airline hubs in Latin America,” said Pablo de la Guardia, Director of Commercial Alliances and Governmental Relations, Copa Airlines. “San Francisco is our 12th US destination and our 74th on the American continent. The opening of this route will enhance tourism and economic development between California, Panama and the rest of the region.”

San Francisco follows New Orleans as the company’s latest US destination.

The daily flight will depart Panama at 9:41 AM, arriving in San Francisco at 2:54 PM.

The return flight departs San Francisco daily at 11:19 PM, arriving in Panama at 8:32 AM the next day.

Copa is operating the flights on a Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft.
