AMResorts’ regional expansion is showing no signs of slowing down.

After deals for new properties in Aruba and Mexico, parent company Apple Leisure Group announced the signing of a resort management agreement for a property in Panama.

The Secrets Playa Bonita Panama will be the first Secrets property in Central America.

It’s the eighth deal announced by the company since the beginning of 2015.

Secrets will take over the existing InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort and Spa, which will operate under that name until Dec. 2015, when it will debut under the Secrets brand.

“Panama has become a premier destination for luxury experiential travel, making it a perfect fit for our award-winning brand,” said Alex Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group. “In concert with our expansion plans for the region, we are committed to offering our owners access to highly desirable markets that are ready to welcome North American travelers.”

The 303-room hotel has a 10,000-square-foot spa. It is owned by Bern Hotels and Resorts.
