Nassau’s Baha Mar resort is targeting a March 27 opening date, according to the project’s Web site.

The property announced the move with the debut of a new video called “The Voyage,” introducing the resort as the “new riviera.”

The Baha Mar, the largest resort project in the Caribbean, first broke ground in 2011. It is slated to include 2,200 rooms spread across four hotels: a Grand Hyatt, an SLS Lux, a Rosewood and a flagship Baha Mar Hotel and Casino.

On March 27, two hotels properties will open: Baha Mar Casino & Hotel, Rosewood at Baha Mar and SLS LUX at Baha Mar, a Baha Mar spokesperson told Caribbean Journal.

The Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar is slated to open “soon after.”

It will also include a residential component.

The property additionally features a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course that recently joined the TPC portfolio.

The $3.5 billion resort is one of the most anticipated projects in the region in some time; it was built by China’s State Construction Engineering Corporation; China is an equity investor in the project.

The project, located on Cable Beach on the Bahamian island of New Providence, had been slated to open in December 2014.
