Playa Resorts Management has named the general manager for the two new Hyatt all-inclusives set to open in Jamaica later this year.

Carl Hendriks will be the general manager for the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall (a family resort) and the adults-only Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, both in Montego Bay.

The properties are expected to open Nov. 1, 2014 following the $80 million renovation and “recreation” of the former Ritz-Carlton.

“Carl’s leadership, exceptional hospitality industry background, and his love for his native Jamaica, make him a tremendous asset to the Playa team that is working to create the ‘evolution of the all-inclusive experience’ at this singularly beautiful resort destination,” said Alex Stadlin, CEO of Playa Resorts Management, the company leading Hyatt’s all-inclusive push. “Under Carl’s direction we know that we will raise the bar, not only for Jamaica but throughout the Caribbean, in setting a new standard for service, dining and experience at an all-inclusive resort.”

Hendriks will officially assume the position Sep. 1; he is a 30-year veteran of the Caribbean hospitality industry, including stints as general manager at several Sandals resorts, among other stops.
