Sandals Grenada Holds Grand Opening

GRENADA — The Sandals LaSource Grenada Resort & Spa held its grand opening on Monday with a lavish affair.

The resort, which first opened its doors in December 2013, is Sandals Resorts International’s first property on the island.

Grenada Governor General Cecile La Grenade, Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell and Tourism Minister Alexandra Otway-Noel joined Sandals Resorts International Chairman Gordon “Butch” Stewart and Sandals CEO Adam Stewart, who hosted the celebration.

Also on hand was Joseph Cinque, president and CEO of the American Academy of Hospitaltiy Sciences, who presented the Stewarts with a pair of Six Star Black Diamond Awards for overall excellence in hospitality and for Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours.

The property, which is located on Grenada’s Pink Gin Beach, has 225 rooms and suites across three “villages.” It features nine restaurants (including the company’s first-ever steakhouse), three pools and two river pools.
