Caribbean Cigar: Robert Dipano Tastes the Graycliff Silver

GRAYCLIFF’S master Cuban torcedores and expanded cigar rolling operations have catapulted the Bahamian brand to the forefront of the luxury cigar market.

And Caribbean Cigar was lucky enough to get its hands on Graycliff’s Silver Label anniversary blend.

The edition, first launched in 2012, comes in a treasure chest-style silver vault bearing an elegant silver band.

And these limited-edition cigars immediately caught our attention with their presentation and attention to detail.

It came as no surprise, then, that the smoke would be just as magnificent.

The silver label comes in a “pirate” or torpedo size and a larger toro size. We tried the toro, which was a medium-bodied cigar filled with the finest leaves from Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua, put together in a flawless Ecuadorian wrapper (with similarly Ecuadorian binder).

Tightly wrapped, with a wonderfully even burn throughout, we tasted complex hints of cinnamon, cocoa, and spice, along with a subtle and almost indescribable sweetness.

This stick is the perfect tribute the Graycliff brand’s 300-year heritage and we will be sad when the run is no longer available.

While our box is now finished and we eagerly await Graycliff’s next limited edition showing, we take comfort in knowing that their exquisite purple label Chateau Gran Cru staple will carry us through.
