The Caribbean’s newest Sheraton hotel is set to open its doors this month.

The new Sheraton Santo Domingo Hotel, located on the waterfront Avenida George Washington in the Dominican Republic’s capital, is set to open on March 27, according to the property’s Web site.

The 245-room property will include a Club Rooms section, 13 functions rooms, a ballroom and its signature Cafe Casabe restaurant, along with another Cafe and a cigar and port bar.

Rooms at the property will include iPod docking stations and 42-inch LCD televisions.

The hotel’s opening marks the return of the Sheraton brand to Santo Domingo; another Sheraton property opened in Punta Cana in 2012.

The hotel has remained open during the transition as the Hotel Magna 365.

The hotel is part of a wider expansion in the Caribbean and Latin American region for the company, which is making a major push in Brazil ahead of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.
