Cayman Islands law firms Travers Thorp Alberga and Paget-Brown have announced that they will be merging.

The two financial services-focused firms will continue as Travers Thorp Alberga, with Ian Paget-Brown, QC assuming the role of Counsel in the new company.

“The growth of my practice over the last 40 years has been a source of immense pride to me but I feel the time is now right for my clients to benefit from the specialized legal expertise available at Travers Thorp Alberga,” Paget-Brown said in a statement. “I would like to express my gratitude for the loyalty of my clients over many years and their unqualified support for this merger. I will, of course, continue to be available to them in my new role as Counsel.”

Travers Thorp Alberga has offices in both Grand Cayman and Hong Kong.

“Ian and I have been legal colleagues in Cayman for well over 30 years and have developed a tremendous amount of respect for each other,” said Tony Travers, senior partner at Travers Thorp Alberga. “As law firm mergers go, this is a perfect match and a natural progression.”
