Colombia-based GHL Hoteles will be taking over operations at the recently-shuttered Kura Hulanda Resorts in Curacao.

The Kura Hulanda, represented by Managing Director Peter Heinen, signed an agreement with GHL Hotels, represented by Andres Sanchez. GHL will take over beginning Dec. 1 and “open these hotels shortly thereafter,” according to a statement.

The Kura Hulanda Hotel and the Kura Hulanda Lodge had both closed at the end of October following a bankruptcy filing.

GHL manages a number of hotels in the Latin American region, including Sonesta, Wyndham, Hilton Garden Inn and Howard Johnson properties, although the Kura Hulanda will be its first in the Caribbean.

GHL takes over for former management company Sandton Hotels, which is based in the Netherlands.
