Envoy From Vietnam Visits Grenada

A special envoy of Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung visited Grenada this week.

Ambassador Le Thanh Tung visited the country to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, along with Vietnam’s candidacy for the Human Rights Council for the 2014-2016 term.

The envoy held talks with Foreign Minister Nickolas Steele, Economic Development Minister Oliver Joseph and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elizabeth Henry-Greenidge.

The two sides also discussed initiatives to attract investment in Grenada.

The Ambassador also invited Steele to visit Vietnam, “preferably before the end of the year.”

The two countries have had diplomatic relations since 1979.
