Anguilla is currently celebrating the 2013 edition of its Summer Festival – the Caribbean’s island’s version of carnival.

The festival, which began at the end of last week, has already seen the J’Ouvert Morning dance festival and a series of calypso, boating and pageant competitions.

On Friday, Anguilla will hold its Grand Parade of Troupes, a non-stop party that begins in the daylight and goes well into the early hours of the morning.

Saturday will be Anguilla’s Calypso Monarch Competition.

The Anguilla Summer Festival concludes with a “Champion of Champions” boat race at Sandy Ground.
