The World Bank recently concluded a three-day visit to Antigua and Barbuda to explore a development policy loan for the country.

The team came to Antigua from Feb. 12 to Feb. 15 to follow up on its earlier visit in November 2012.

It held talks with Finance Minister Harold Lovell, Tourism Minister John Maginley and Telecommunications Minister Dr Edmond Mansoor, along with other public and private sector officials.

The loan would be a budgetary support mechanism similar to the policy at the Caribbean Development Bank.

Antigua also recently hosted a retreat by the Canada Eastern Caribbean Debt Management Advisory Service at the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union to plan its annual work programme during the same time period.
