Golding Testifies before Commission

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 18, 2011

Prime Minister Bruce Golding began his long-awaited testimony before the Manatt Commission of Enquiry Friday, saying that he was “livid” when the high-powered Washington, D.C. lobbying firm said it preferred to represent the Government of Jamaica as opposed to the Jamaica Labour Party. “I became livid when [Harold Brady] told me that [Manatt] wanted to represent the Government,” he said in his opening comments. “I said no, no, no, no lock it down.”According to Golding, the initial suggestion to look to Manatt for lobbying came after a meeting between Brady and former Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ronald Robinson.
